What is a sheer bra?

A sheer bra, also called a see through bra, is made from fine mesh, tulle or lace that you can see straight through. It's lingerie made to be seen, whether that's under an open shirt, as part of a date-night outfit or just for you. Most sheer bras are unlined, so they feel light and barely-there but give less shaping than an everyday bra.

How to choose a sheer bra

Size. Sheer fabric has less stretch than a T-shirt bra. If you are between sizes, go up one. Check the size chart on each product page before you order.
Support. Unlined mesh and lace are about the look, not lift. If you want more support, pair a sheer bra with high-waisted bottoms and wear it for shorter periods, or choose a bodysuit, which spreads the hold across the whole body.
Coverage. Fully sheer styles show everything. If you'd like a little more mystery, look at lace bras with patterned panels in our main bras range.

Mesh, tulle or lace?

Mesh is the most see through. It is light and stretchy, and shows the most skin.
Tulle is a very fine net. It is soft and floaty, and a little more delicate.
Sheer lace mixes see through panels with a pattern, so it gives a peek rather than a full reveal.

All three are designed to be seen, so think about where you'll wear it. A fully sheer bra makes a statement under an open shirt, while lace is easier to layer under everyday clothes.

How to wear see through lingerie

Under a loose blazer or an unbuttoned shirt for a night out.
With matching briefs, suspenders and stockings for the full lingerie look.
Layered under a sheer or mesh top in a contrasting colour.
On its own, for a confidence boost on date night or a special photo shoot.
With a matching sheer bodysuit or robe if you want to mix textures in the same colour.

Caring for sheer lingerie

Mesh and lace snag easily. Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, or use a lingerie bag on a gentle cycle. Don't wring it out: press out the water, lay it flat to dry and keep it away from the dryer. Do up any hooks before washing so they don't catch the fabric.

Buying sheer lingerie as a gift
